Keynote Speaker Konstantinos Magkos at ENISA’s “Cybersecurity Skills – Building a Cybersecurity Workforce” Conference

On the occasion of the official presentation of the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF), ENISA is hosting a 2-day conference on “Cybersecurity Skills – Building a Cybersecurity Workforce”, during which various communities will present how they are helping to grow the cybersecurity workforce.

The conference aims to highlight how ENISA is going to sustain the effort to build a cybersecurity workforce, through the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF) and its application.

Konstantinos Magkos, Head of Training and Support Department in the Greek National Cybersecurity Authority, former NOC executive with many years of experience in cyber security is one of the conference’s keynote speakers.

Background:

The cybersecurity workforce shortage and skills gap are a major concern for both economic development and national security, especially in the rapid digitization of the global economy. While various initiatives related to cybersecurity skills have been proposed and multiple actions have been launched to address the problems, cybersecurity skills gaps persist.

In an effort to address the problem, ENISA identified Europe’s need for a comprehensive approach that define a set of roles and skills relevant to the cybersecurity field and worked on the development of the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF), thus making an essential next step towards Europe’s digital future.

On the occasion of the official presentation of the ECSF ENISA is hosting a conference on “Cybersecurity Skills – Building a Cybersecurity Workforce”, where national, European and international stakeholders will come together to share best practices in building a cybersecurity workforce, in order to tackle current and future cybersecurity threats.
